We’re on the Best of Scandinavia tour in July 2025. The tour ends in Bergen, Norway. Since we’re “in the neighborhood “, we’d like to travel then to Iceland. Thoughts, experiences, recommendations?
We went to Iceland May 2024 and it was fantastic. Icelandair flies from Bergen to Reykjavik. We found their business class tickets reasonable from Glasgow to Reykjavik. Driving distances are far in Iceland. We spent 1/2 a day in Reykjavik at start and end of our trip, 2 days up in Snaefellsnes, 1 long day on the Golden Circle and 2 days on South Coast - Vik, Jokulsarlon lagoon. Highly, highly recommend this wild, remote and unique country.
Icelandair offers a Stopover program at no additional charge. The airline flies to both Stockholm and Bergen.

Iceland is wonderful. I've been a few times. It's beautiful, just about everyone speaks English and it's very laid back.
Dress warm....even in July.
May I suggest going to the Iceland forum and reading a bit? I just recently returned from our 7th trip, so yes, I highly recommend it:). As mentioned, Icelandair is a great way to go. How long are you thinking of staying in Iceland and do you like to hike, do hot springs, etc?
Well worth the time. From our experience try to schedule at least 7 days if your time allows. It is very drivable.
