We are renting a car in Oslo and driving from there to Flam for the Fjordsafari and spending the night in Aurland, We will then drive north of Solvorn and spend the night, driving the Snow Road and going to the Borgund Stave Church and the Stegastein Viewpoint on the way. The next day, we are driving to do a glacier hike on the Nigardsbreen. We will return the car then to Sogndal, because that seems to be the only town on the Sognefjord with car rental facilities. Our problem is how to get to a town that night that is served by the express boat to Bergen. We had hoped to stay in Balestrand that night, but I don't know how we can get there. There appears to be limited bus service from point to point, but no boat. Has anyone had this experience and, if so, how did you resolve it? Thank you for any suggestions.
