I'm only spending 24 hours in Oslo. Can anyone recommend a boutique hotel in Oslo for a Steve-nik?
Thank you, Carl
We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful.
We also spent only one night in Oslo and enjoyed the Amerikalinjen. Only a short walk to the train station (and the train to the airport), which is nice if you are in transit. Good breakfast.
About 10 years ago we stayed at Hotel Bristol, which is now part of the Thon chain. Very centrally located and excellent breakfast.
Another vote for Amerikalinjen. We just stayed there in early September. The location was great - directly across from train station and a tram stop/station. Delicious breakfast buffet. Friendly helpful staff.
In March, I stayed at the Thon Hotel Astoria for one night - on the smaller side, near the train station, nice breakfast, and very adequate room. Rick would stay here. Ha!
Later in March, I spent 3 nights at the Radisson Blu Plaza. It is also very close to the train station, larger and “nicer”, good breakfast. Cost differential between the two wasn’t huge.
We also stayed at the Thon Hotel Astoria twice in August. I wouldn't call it a boutique hotel, but it was very clean and well kept and the breakfast was extensive. Location was great as was the staff!
