Hiring a guide in Bergen

Hi all,

My trip to the Shetland, then Bergen is coming together. One tricky piece is getting out to Telavaag, an historic village greatly affected in WWII. I've been given tips on taking the bus, but it has some connections that could be easily missed and not giving me a lot a time to be at the museum there. So now, I'm looking at hiring a guide to take me there. I looked up a guide mentioned in the Norway guide, but the email is not correct. Has anyone done this? I also have had friends hire guides that have some connection to Rick Steve tours, but that was in another country.

Of course there is always a risk something goes wrong with the connection. But easily missed? No, you are making a mountain out of a molehill. There is no reason to worry about a connection on a bus trip.

I suggest renting a car for the day. I drove in Norway and it was not difficult. I used the GPS on my phone that worked just fine but the rental car also had one (that I didn't pay extra for - it just had it). The car would give you flexibility on when you want to leave and also maybe to stop at some sights along the way.
