Hello! My fiance and I are going to be in Norway from June 16-June 21, and would like to do some hiking while we're there. I found this hike on the Norwegian Trekking Association website: https://www.dnt.no/om-dnt/english/tour-suggestions/summer/hiking-aurlandsdalen/, and it sounded like it would work well for our schedule and where we wanted to go. (We won't have a car and would like to do most or all of the Norway Nutshell as we work our way from Oslo to Bergen).
However, although the link above says this hike can be done in June, when I went to book our lodging along the route I found that a lot of the main places to stay are still closed at that point (i.e. Finse 1222 in Finse doesn't open for the summer seasons until June 21, and Geiterygghytta doesn't open until July). I've found other places we could stay along the route, but the fact that so much of the lodging will be closed makes me wonder if we should even be trying to do this hike at that time of year. Will it still be too snowy? Or even just too wet?
Any help would be appreciated - if anyone has alternative hike suggestions, we really liked the idea of hut-to-hut hiking, but would be fine with just doing a few day hikes that aren't too far off the Nutshell Route. We also hope to bike from Myrdal to Flam at some point during the trip.
