Help with Norway fjords itinerary with teens

I need help finalizing the last two days of our Norway trip in early August. After 2 nights in Bergen and 2 in Flam, we have one more night and need to decide an activity for Day 5 and where to stay that night. I have a place booked near Fjaerland. I'm considering the short blue ice glacier hike at Nigardsbreen. However, it is a lot of driving (2.5 hours from Flam to glacier, then 1.75 hours from glacier to Fjaerland hotel). That's over 4 hours of driving plus 4 hour glacier hike. Is the glacier hike worth the extra driving? We are traveling with 3 boys ages 16, 13 and 11.

Other options are just to go to Fjaerland and skip the glacier hike. What could we do to make this fun? What is there to see between Flam and Fjaerland? What activities would you recommend in Fjaerland?

Or we also could go to Balestrand. Same questions on what to see and do if we choose this option.

Day 1 - arrive Bergen at 6:20 pm
Day 2 - Bergen sightseeing
Day 3 - white water rafting in Voss and drive to Flam
Day 4 -fjord safari to gudvagen and train to Myrdal, zip line and bike ride, stay in flam
Day 5 - short blue ice hike? Fjaerland? Balestrand?
Day 6 - drive back to Bergen for 7:30 pm flight to Stockholm, ideas to make the drive interesting

We arrive in Bergen on Tuesday 8
7/30 and leave on Sunday Aug 4. We rented a car starting evening of 7/31 and will have it the rest of our time in Norway.

I'm leaning toward booking short blue ice hike at Nigardsbreen for Day 5 (Aug 3). It will be a long day but will ensure we have something interesting to do. Then we can stay in Fjaerland and visit the glacier museum the morning of Aug 4 (opens at 9) before driving back to Bergen. Our flight leaves Bergen at 7:30 pm so we can make stops on the way back if there are interesting things to see.

Thoughts on this plan?
