Glacier Hike with Go Fjords

We would really like to go on a Glacier Hike while we are in Bergen. Because we didn't rent a car, this option with Go Fjords sounds good as it picks up from the Bergen bus station.

We found it through this website https://en.visitbergen.com/things-to-do/guided-glacier-hiking-folgefonna-p1362723?bw-date=2024-07-03&bw-adults=1

However, there are not any reviews on Trip Advisor for this particular option and just two reviews for other options (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g190502-d18954098-Reviews-Go_Fjords-Bergen_Hordaland_Western_Norway.html) I haven't been able to find any other reviews. I'm hoping that someone in this forum is familiar with the company and could shed some light on their experience.

I see that there is also this option https://www.fjordtours.com/en/norway/things-to-do/outdoor-activities/hiking/glacier-tours/folgefonna-national-park-glacier I think we would need to rent a car though as it starts in Jondal. Does anyone have experience with this option?

Thanks in advance.

I wanted to share our experience in case anyone else is in the same situation and is nervous about the lack of reviews. I've gotten a lot out of this forum and want to pay it forward.

While we booked the trip through Go Fjords, the company that led the glacier hike is https://www.folgefonni.no/

We had a great experience. I would recommend it to anyone interested in a day trip from Bergen. The transport coordinated by Go Fjords went very smoothly. It seems a little intimidating with the several transfers and very short transfer times, but it is all very well-coordinated (the ferry knew about the bus, the bus knew about the ferry, etc; note that it is unguided so you do the transfers on your own; also note that the ferry is quite scenic as is the bus ride to and from the ski resort).

Our guide for the glacier hike was very well-informed, safety-conscious and very interested in making sure that the pace was good for everyone and that all were enjoying the hike. We felt like we were in very good hands. We had paid extra for lunch, and the lunches were generous and tasty. We lucked out with weather, and it was unbelievably gorgeous even when the clouds came in. It was definitely a trip highlight!

Both Go Fjords and Folgefonni Glacier Team responded timely to emails.

Good luck with your Norway trip planning!
