Getting to Bergen airport from hotel early on a Sunday

Has anyone used a car service to get from Bergen city center to the airport? We leave early on a Sunday morning and I am worried about travel time to the airport. Not sure if the Byparken train runs early on a Sunday morning. A car service sounds more efficient, especially needing to walk with luggage to the train. Any travelers who had a great experience getting picked up from their hotel? Thank you!

I managed to avoid taxis in Norway (not wanting to mortgage my condo), so I don't have any experience with those. The Bybanen train from Byparken to the airport (with stops along the way) runs every 15 minutes overnight except for a gap between 4 AM and 5:45 AM.

A quick look via Google suggests a taxi might cost the equivalent of about $55. Here's my info source:

Byparken is a park in central Bergen. The tram that runs to the airport is called Bybanen. Good things to remember, or locals will be very confused if you ask them how early Byparken runs…

Not sure where you are staying, but the tram is a very efficient way to get to the airport. There are also buses, but I don't know how early they run.

Thank you. I think we will have to check out the times with our hotel, which is Hotel Augustin. I couldn’t figure out the bus times online. I think the bus would be excellent, just know we have to leave around 7 am on a Sunday for the airport and a little nervous about the timing. Everyone has been so helpful! Thank you!

Your hotel is less than 1/2 mile from the Bybanen stop at the north end of Byparken. If you have wheeled luggage and the weather's OK, it wouldn't be a bad walk at all. Google Maps estimates the walking time at 9 minutes. I always prefer to walk rather than wait on a bus in a situation like this--much more predictable. That said, Bergen gets a lot of rain.

We have a 6:15am flight from Bergen to Frankfurt on June 26.. So I guess it is a taxi for us paying the added maximum for night time travel . Or, a bus with a 4:30 departure from the bus station at half the price

I wonder what time the check-in desk and security operation open in the morning?
