Was thinking of trying to stop at Christian-gaard on the way from Geiranger to Alesund but can’t figure out the route/ferries, etc. Any advice? Has anyone done this? It may be too out of the way.
Everywhere on Hjorundfjorden is out of the way. Drive Alesund to Store-Standal via ferry. Then ferry Store-Standal to Trandal.

Does "stop" mean you will have a car or a boat?
Yes, a car. Looks like we take the Geiranger-Hellesylt ferry then the Saebo-Lekneset ferry then the Trandal-Saebo ferry to get there, at least according to Apple Maps. I guess I need to find the ferry schedules. Not sure how often they run in June. Website only shows 2x day from Saebo? Maybe we can leave our car there and water taxi over and back?
With car the Geiranger - Hellesylt ferry would be my approach (reason for my question). With car I recommend to book this in advance because it is not a state ferry which belongs to the public street network. And for the rest you will find schedules. The other ferries are afaik state ferries which load vehicles just in row of appearance (except buses and special purpose). So just line up.
I think a short day trip report after your journey would help others on the forum - if you do this route.
