Any lodging or “must see”/“must dine” or general recommendations in or around Geiranger? Coming from Lom, then on to Bergen via a night or two perhaps in Balestrand or the Aurland area…
Thanks…

Unless you are really enthusiastic and experienced walkers there's not a lot to do in Geiranger itself. It's a very small village on a very steep hill. Hotel Union has great views and the restaurant gets good reviews. There are some other food places near the wharf but I don't think they are open in the evenings unless there's a cruise ship docked there.
We spent two nights in Geiranger on our previous Norway trip. The one full day we took the ferry round trip through the fjord. We left the car on the dock. Unless you want to do the ferry through the fjord, there really isn't much else in Geiranger. Grande Fjord Hotel is a good choice - maybe a km out of town, perched on the side of the fjord with great views.
We are returning to Norway again next summer. We will arrive in Geiranger late afternoon, driving from Balestrand via Lom. Next day, we intend to drive the windy mountain roads to Andalsnes, then head on to Alesund for two nights.
If you are driving, and depending on what time of year you are going, drive up to the Dalsnibba viewpoint/skywalk. It is about 30 minutes from Geiranger. If the weather is decent, great view and fun, twisty road!
