If you stay at the Clarion in Bergen be careful up in the tower of the hotel. We were locked in by other tourists as they left the observation desk! Calling the front desk went to voicemail but screaming help did get an American from across the street to run in and alert the front desk. We have beautiful photos of the Bergen skyline and a fun story for home. And the kind reception desk offered a glass of wine on the house.

Oh my! We stayed there and went up the tower, but did not get locked out. That possibility did not occur to us. Glad it worked out!

So glad a great person came to your rescue. I will be staying next door at the Best Western. Did you fly into Bergen and if so, how did you get to the hotel? Tram 1 or Shuttle Bus and in both cases walk?

I am hijacking Nancy's post here :-)
I just returned from Bergen (Tuesday!) and used the Flybussen from the airport and back for our 6 am flight out of Bergen.
We stayed at the Thon Orion and the bus stop was just a few minutes walk from the hotel and right on the wharf/Bryggen area.
The service is excellent, the drivers helpful and the bus schedule is very convenient. https://www.flybussen.no
The cost was about $12.50 per person if you booked in advance (online) which we did.

Omygosh! We just stayed there last week, and that thought occurred to me while we were in the tower. Thankfully, we didn’t get locked in.
