I booked a Rick Steves Scandinavia tour for June July 2025. I’m looking into flights, I usually fly on United. I’m seem to be hitting a wall. Looking for the best way to fly home from Bergen Norway.
United doesn't fly to Bergen. But its alliance partner, Lufthansa, does.
Hi, patpetrelli62,
I just did that route this past July. SAS has a connecting flight from Bergen to Copenhagen, then an international flight to Newark. The Bergen flight leaves around 10:00 a.m., and the international flight arrives at EWR around 3:00 p.m.
There is a short layover in Copenhagen, so you may have to hustle to get to the next gate.
They also have two earlier flights which route through Oslo, and give you a slightly longer layover time. However, the 10:00 a.m. departure worked best for us - we are not early risers!
Good luck!

Maybe the issue is that SAS is no longer a United partner. It is now partnered with Delta. This was effective Sept 1.

thank you for all the great advice
Take a look at Icelandair. I just looked a flight from BGO to EWR via Icelandair for 07/23/2025. About a 2 hr layover in Keflavik. Shouldn't be a problem transferring between planes since that is Icelandair's 'bread and butter".
On the website of Bergen airport you can see for which European airports a connection is offered. From these airports you can check connections to your home airport.
