Flam NIN - Fjord Safari boat and regular boat?

We are doing the Norway in a Nutshell over 2 days and staying 1 night in Flam. On day one, we are doing the train from Bergen to Voss, then the bus to Gudvangen and then the boat through the Fjords to Flam. That evening we plan to do the Sauna in Flam. The next day, we do not leave Flam (to go to Oslo) until 1730, so we have the whole day.

My question is, should we do the Fjord Safari (standard or original) the next day. I noticed it is the same route that the boat takes, just in RIB boat. Has anyone done both and thought it was worth doing? Or should we do something else?

Did not do RIB boat there but enjoying a World Nature Heritage with an incredible loud and over-motorized plastic boat is not my way of traveling.

Have a look at Flambana, Stegastein, Zipline, bike tours, etc. Enough to do there.

We also did not do the RIB boat.

But, the minibus tour to Stegastein Viewpoint with a few stops on the return was spectacular on a beautiful day.

Loved the RIB boat tour in Flam. Our family of eight basically filled the boat. Guide was great, (Argentine, but spoke perfect English and Norwegian). The tour company provides all the warm, dry, flotation, high-visibility clothing. I don’t recall the engine being especially loud. Also did the ferry cruise. Much preferred the RIB boat.
