Hi Fellow Travelers- we are spending a week cruising the fjords in early July. Should we be expecting the unexpected weather wise? Does anyone with experience traveling during this time of year have any recommendations regarding what to pack?

We spent a few days in the fjords (based in Balestrand) in July many years ago and the weather was all over the place. We had some sun/ warmish weather but it was mostly drizzly and cloudy. I do remember our kayaking trip was canceled because of ocean swells/ lightening. I would for sure pack rain gear.

"the fjords" is not very specific, there are fjords all over Norway. So yes, expect the unexpected. It can be 30° and sunny, but it can also be 10°, windy and pouring rain.

The cruise stops include Geiranger, Alesund and Flam.
