I was wondering if I should get a fjord card? Can it be used for discounts on train travel or Norway in a nutshell tours? My friend and I are traveling from Oslo to Bergen roundtrip. We are spending one night in Bergen. Thank you
Are you talking about this FjordPass? It does not include train or regular-ferry discounts, but does give discounts on "selected tourist boat routes with Fjord1" when buying tickets in person, on board. See more detail through that link.
I guess the question is about FjordCard. (http://www.norled.no/Default.aspx?pageid=1387)
For 999 NOK, one person can travel an unlimited number of legs during five consecutive days with the express boats run by Norled, in Sogn og Fjordane county and to/from Bergen (Hordaland county).
Example to give you an idea of the distances you must travel to break even on this deal:
Roundtrip Flåm – Bergen – Flåm (minipris or group of two adults) is 1163 NOK for one person (10-11 hours).
