Has anyone used ferry hopper to books tickets for a car ferry?
For most ferries within Norway you do not need to book tickets. Which one do you plan to use?
I have heard what you're stating. Trying to go from Stavanger to Bergen. I know the timetable. The ferry leaves at 0730 & arrives in Bergen around 1300. I guess I just trust that we get onboard.
For this Fjordline ferry you need a reservation. I thought you mean the dozens of small in inner Norway.
Cheapest is to book on their Norwegian website.
OK. Thank you MarkK. I'm having trouble getting into the site to reserve a ticket. I'm wondering since you're talking a norwegian website that maybe a Norwegian site on a VPN might work better.
The company has an English language website which charges exactly the same fares, when converted to Euro. www.fjordline.com/an
I have no difficulty using that website.
The journey on foot before adding a lounge and breakfast can be as low as 19 euro, for the 5 hour plus passage.
I ended up emailing them. What I heard so far is that the boat we want to take might be full. I gave them more info, so we'll see what the answer is. We'll not have a car, so I'm hoping we can get on. Otherwise we'll just fly, I think.
Why on earth fly such a journey, in Norway of all places?
Norway Buss Ekspress also run very good quality double deck bus services between the two cities, called the Kystbussen.
Because of the nature of the scenic terrain the 4 hour 30 minute journey includes two ferry crossings where the bus drives on and off with you on board.
It is not clear why you are having such prob!ems booking on the ferry website which is a good and working website. But if you have the same issues booking the bus that can also be booked when you are in Stavanger.
