Is it possible to purchase a express ferry ticket from Flam with a stop in Balestrand and reboard again the following day in Balestram to Bergen? Or is Balestrand a side trip from Flam where you need to get back to Flam to get the express ferry to Bergen.
Any help is appreciate in understanding the route choices and how to book the ferry service correctly.
You can definitely go directly from Balestrand to Bergen. I did what you want to do, but I booked the full package with Norway in a Nutshell. If you buy your expressboat tickets direct from Norled, I'm not sure how to ticket it. I don't see a way on their site to buy two separate legs without checking out separately (which might be fine). I'd email them ([email protected]) and ask if you can buy your tickets in one transaction.
Lane thank you very much for responding to my question. I figured someone else should have done this previously but I couldn't figure out how to possibly book this service.

You must book two separate tickets, Flåm-Balestrand and Balestrand-Bergen.

If you plan to travel more on express boats in the “Sogn og Fjordane” county then a pass could be an option.

I just booked for regular tickets from Flam to Baletrand and then the express boat the following day from Balestrand to Bergen. Very easy; 2 departures on a Sunday from Baletrand to Bergen. Use the link the previous poster gave you - good luck!
Everyone - thank you for your reply on how to book this trip
