I will be visiting Norway for the Rosendal Chamber Music festival in August and have the option of taking a privately arranged ferry one-way from Stavanger to Rosendal. I think transit time is about 6hrs. (Rosendal is on the Hardangerfjord.) I'm wondering whether this will be an interesting ride, or if I should skip Stavanger and take the express ferry from Bergen, which is where I intend to be after the festival. Also, any comments on whether Stavanger is worth visiting for a couple of days would be welcome plus suggestions for visiting nearby Folgefonna National Park.
