ferries and itinerary

Hi, we live in Europe and are thinking of driving to Denmark and taking our car on ferries to and from Norway, possibly Frederikshavn to Oslo and then Bergen to Hirtshals---any feedback on this idea? We are not city people and are thinking of 3 home bases - near Lom, Solvorn and Balestrand - perhaps 3-4 days each to relax and hike, then taking car ferry from Kaupanger to Gudvangen and driving to Bergen. My concerns include driving the route, and navigating the cities to the ports. Any feedback welcome. TIA

I'm not sure there is a question here, but why not. Sounds like a nice vacation. Just make sure you know how to pay the tolls along the way.
