Extra time: Bronnoysund area or Tromso area?

Hello!

Our ferry schedule changed and we are needing to rethink our Norway itinerary for July.

I am traveling with my partner, our kids (12 &14), and his very fit 85 year old mother.

We will be arriving Bronnoysund by boat at 1:30 am Monday (coming from the south), and plan to rent a car to visit family farms in nearby Vik. On Saturday we will be meeting family in Dyrøy area (between Tromso and Narvik) and on Sunday we take the night train to Stockholm.

The questions are about how to allocate time Monday - Saturday and get ourselves to Dyrøy and then Narvik.

My current thinking is that we will stay until Wednesday in Bronnoysund area mostly doing family heritage exploration and a bit of hiking, and the then fly to Tromso for Wednesday night. Explore Tromso for a day, then sleep Thursday & Friday at a camp near the Riddu Riddu festival (Friday some can rest and some can go to festival). On Saturday, drive two hours to meet family for overnight in Dyrøy, then another drive Sunday morning to Narvik for the train at 3 pm.

I would appreciate feedback - what do you think? Bronnoysund/Vik, Dyrøy, and Narvik are the must do destinations - the Tromso approach is the flexible part.

Thanks so much!

If you are already there with a car you can explore landscape route Helgelandskysten.

Tromsø is a very functional city with a few sights. At clear sky you can experience midnight sun at Fjellheisen but there is not so much more to do. Landscape is imo nicer at Helgelandskysten.
