I would like to go to Norway in a Nutshell. Can I use the Eurail Scandinavian Pass for a discount or do I need to purchase the Regular Eurail pass? I know it doesn't cover the cost 100%, but there is a discount.
Any pass that covers Norway, including the one-, two, and four-country versions, all cover the train running Oslo-Myrdal-Bergen (seat reservation about $12 extra) and give you a 30% discount on the private Myrdal-Flam rail line. They do not cover buses and boats. See also http://www.ricksteves.com/travel-tips/transportation/trains/norway-rail-passes.
It is my understanding, however, that you can't get the discount for the Myrdal-Flam train if you book online....... Is this true? If so, is it too late if you book a week or so before the trip,.....once you are in Norway?
