End of summer trip to Scandinavia

Hello!
Can you advise if last week of Aug to first week of Sept is a good time to go to Sweden and Norway in terms of a) weather, b) crowds and c) availability (trains, ferries, etc)?
(I posted this on my prior topic as a reply, but as I am new to the forum I am not sure if it is visible to everyone that way)

Thanks!

a) Weather - August is about the best time to go! You will most likely experience periods of rain, plenty of sunshine, and the warmest temps of the year.
b) Crowds - It's the height of the tourist season but many locals are out of town at their summer cottages or other vacation destinations.
c) Availability - Make your reservations now. Again, it's the height of the tourist season so you'll want to get your hotel and train reservations (for the more popular tourist routes) ASAP.
All of the above will completely depend on where you plan to go in both countries. Both are quite large and have everything from big cities to isolated, wild areas. A little more specific information will help us advise you! :)

Thanks! I am planning on visiting Stockholm, Olso, doing Norway in a Nutshell (stopping overnight probably at Flam and Balestrand) and Bergen. Of course if you'd suggest better overnight options in fjord country, I'd love to hear. Txs!!
