electricity plug adapters

Hello,
I read that Norway uses a K adaptor, which is different from other European and Scandinavian countries. But my friend said the one she used in Europe says it is for all of Scandinavia too. Leave on Tuesday so need to be sure we have the correct adapters!
Thanks, Janis

I don't know where you read that, but I suggest you avoid that source. It's wrong, Norway uses F-sockets, the most common in Europe. Denmark however uses K-sockets.

I guess I had the country wrong as I looked up all three. So only a K will work in Denmark? The prongs look the same. But I did get a K type to be safe. However my friends did not. Thanks for the response!

I recently returned from the RS Scandinavia tour.
My regular europe adapter worked just fine in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway.

Thank you! That is so good to hear. It is weird that there is so much on the internet on this subject and yet so many conflicting answers! Yours is the best and all I need!

The difference appears to be the grounding pin. If you are using one of those cheap 2 pin "euro plugs" the grounding isn't an issue.

It depends on what kind of electric things you are bringing. A type C plug will fit and be enough for most devices. But if you're bringing something that needs a connection to ground, a type K adapter will be needed.

I was curious about Badger's answer, because their answers are always
good.

Thank you!

Thank you everyone for clearing up this up for me. I can always count on the RS travel forum for good advice!
