Dropping off car rental in Alesund

I already had an electric car booked through AutoEurope using Hertz, but since my itinerary has changed and we will no longer be dropping the car off in Bergen, I needed to adjust the booking so that we could drop it off in Alesund.

However, when I go to the AutoEurope website, it is telling me that Alesund is not an option to drop off. I think that's strange because I know that Hertz has an office at the airport in Alesund, as well as several of the other agencies that Auto Europe uses. Is there something I'm missing here?

I don't necessarily have to go through AutoEurope, so if anyone has any other suggestions, I'm happy to listen. We would be picking up the car in Oslo (in July). Originally I had scheduled to pick it up at the airport, but I might change that to the train station in town, and we'll be dropping it off in Alesund 4 days later.

I am sure you have probably already looked at the companies that have offices in both locations and what the cost is when booking direct. I find that sometimes AutoEurope doesn’t show me all the options, so isn’t always my best bet. I am renting 2 cars in Greece this summer and renting direct both times.

Thanks, TTM. I think that's probably what I will do. Yes, I'm starting to check other options. I even checked booking.com, but their prices were higher than booking through Hertz directly, so I'll go back to Hertz or Sixth and see what they have.

I am looking at the Hertz website, and they will certainly let me rent an electric car in Oslo and drop in Alesund, or they will booking from the UK.
For a random one week hire 23 to 30 July Oslo Airport to Alesund Airport a 4 door premium (Polestar or equiv) automatic is £812, a Mini or an economy is £785. (inclusive of the one way fee).

Auto Europe will let me, in the UK, drop at Alesund, and are quoting me £796.21 (which includes £513.98 one way fee, paid locally) for the same car. Oslo to Oslo would be £282.23 for the same week.

Jean, you're brilliant! I tried it with the circle above the A and that didn't work, but didn't think of adding the A. Thank you!

Stuart, thanks for the research! I definitely know that dropping it off in a different location is extremely pricey but there's no way getting around it.
