Hi! My wife and I (both 34) are doing a Scandanavian trip for our anniversary this year, so we will be in Bergen, Norway in early/mid May. We want to see the fjords, even though it may be cold, and it seems like anything worth seeing will require driving, so after extensive research, we would LOVE to make prest happen (though it may be closed and we are ok with that), and we want to hike in the Kinsarvik. Neither are close by - 2-3 hrs according to the maps. But from a driving perspective, is it scary? Is it safe? I know the winters are longer there and the roads are windy and narrow, but curious as to safety before we fully commit
Kinsarvik: Road 13 is on fjord / sea level, so you shall be OK driving there. Even if snow on this zero altitude shall occur "in early/mid May" the main roads shall be cleared excellently. Some passes and fjells might still be closed.
Rent winter tires. Sea tyre requirements regulation.
The map from this page will show actual traffic situation, partly with webcams.
