Day trip on boat/ferry out of Flam?

Any suggestions for a day trip on the fjord out of Flam? Likely also returning there. Going in March.

I have taken the ferry from Flam to Gudvangen (part of Norway in a Nutshell) but I have not heard of a ferry that starts in Flam and returns. However, you can get a shuttle bus from Gudvangen back to Flam. Or take the same ferry back.
