Cycling in Norway

Has anyone cycled there? we plan to go late june this year. My spouse would be most happy with 1 or 2 big road rides ( climb a mountain, could be 25-50 miles). we would also love a ride with our 13 y/o kids who are not terribly hardy, so 10-20 miles without too much climb, but a mountain bike sort of ride would be better with the kids ( keep off roads with cars). Would need to be able to rent bikes. Kids and I not picky, but spouse would really like a superior sort of road bike. Thanks.

There are good bicycle facilities all around Norway. Most highways have a separate path for bicycling and walking. Mountain biking is very popular and especially convenient with all of the xc ski trails over the whole country. A great way to bicycle around Oslo would be to take the metro up to Nordmarka and rent mountain bikes up there. You can ride around the many ski trails. There are lakes for swimming and cabins that serve coffee, waffles and open-faced sandwiches.
