Cost of travel for day trip from Bergen

We are planning a day trip from Bergen and wanted to know the current or most recent costs for this public transportation. We would like to take the route as follows: The train from Bergen to Myrdal, the Flamsbana train to Flam, the ferry to Gudvangen, the bus to Voss and the train back to Bergen. Your help is greatly appreciated. Two more questions, we don't have Pay Pal. What is another method to charge/buy the train tickets from Vy.no other than Pay Pal? We want to book August 12. Are we too late to organize all these tickets for a day trip?
Thank you for your advise.

You can just book the package ”Norway in a Nutshell” trip from Bergen to Bergen. You can check the timing and prices on this website:
https://www.fjordtours.com/en/norway/tours/norway-in-a-nutshell

Vy.no states, ” Important message for our customers from the US and Canada: We recommend PayPal as we only accept credit cards with 3D Secure. Payment with PayPal is available at checkout at vy.no, but not in the Vy app.”

You can try your credit card. You can also try a debit card. If neither of those work, then you will probably need to set up an account on Paypal.

As Laura has said, you can book this via the Fjord Tours website, approx. $200 per person in August (Bergen to Bergen, the route you described). They accept payment by American Express, Maestro, Visa, Mastercard and Vipps, but do not accept Paypal or CapitalOne.

You can do it yourself, I did basically what is described here: https://traveladdicts.net/diy-norway-in-a-nutshell-tour/ . Given you're going peak season though, the potential cost savings may not outweigh the convenience of having tickets in hand ahead for your day of choice. As noted you might need to set up an alternate payment method for train tickets. PayPal is not difficult to use and it can be linked to your credit card or bank account. But you might need to allow a day or two for setting up.

Bergen to Flam 779Kr, Flam to Gudvangen 625Kr, Gudvangen to Bergen via Voss 406 Kr, Total 1810Kr = £180 = USD216

These are fares for that day, all available now, so basically the same price as the package.

Train and bus fares from vy.no, ferry fare from norway's best

If we book through Fjord Tours, do they provide all tickets needed, train, bus, and ferry? Do they email the tickets to you or do you pick them up in Bergen. I went to Fjord Tours website posted and they have the schedule for each part of the trip posted. Some scheduled times seem tight to make the connection. If you miss a connection can you take the next one? We have been reading how wonderful this trip is, but it also sounds stressful to put all these pieces together in one day of travel. We appreciate your information and the time for you to post it. Kind regard, Jen

Do not worry about the connections. You will have only a very short distance to walk at each change point; many people take the NiN trip encumbered by baggage (I did), and even that is not a problem. The last leg of the trip, back to Bergen on the train, has quite frequent service.
