We are taking a Norway cruise with a Norwegian interest group. We could do an Oslo extension of the cruise at the end - 4 nights, $2000/PP. This would be in July in probably a higher-end hotel. Does this seem expensive? It seems so to wife and myself.
What is included in the $2k per person fee?
Hard to say without knowing what is included.
We were in Oslo 2 nights during our trip in 2023. Our hotel, the Thon Opera, was about $250US per night for a superior room with breakfast. We used the Oslo card for transportation and museums. Our only other expense was lunches and dinners. All expenses for 2 nights was just under $1000US.
That’s ridiculous. And likely only includes hotel and transfers. Go on booking.com and see what hotels cost in July. You can easily get a place for less than $1,000 for 4 nights. Then just take a taxi.
Included in the stay is 4 nights at the Thon hotel Rosenkrans Oslo (at about 750/4N/2P), 2 tours and some train fares. This $4240 cost is probably 2x what could be obtained without the tour. We won't be taking this option.
We won't be taking this option.
Given that booking a Junior Suite ( the most expensive room shown) on the hotel's website is about $400 per night, I believe you have made a good decision
