Closest Hotel to the Oslo Train Station

We will be doing the "Norway in a Nutshell" tour from Bergen to Oslo - arriving in Oslo around 11:30 at night. We would like to be able to take a short walk to the nearest hotel for that night. We have an airbnb for the rest of our stay. Looking at the map, it looks like the Radisson Blu should work - but might have to cross a busy street or two. Does anyone have a better suggestion?

Thank you,

Paula

I stayed at the Comfort Hotel Bøersparken (Tollbugata 4) just a couple blocks from the station. The area isn't super seedy as I recall. Breakfast was quite good. Though the Radisson is closer and similarly priced, so if you're wanting a very short walk I'd go with that. Streets won't be super busy at that time of day.

The Scandic Oslo City and Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel are both next to Oslo’s Sentral Train Station.

If you're worried about crossing a street or two you probably should rethink travelling. But if that is a problem you can book a room at Scandic Byporten, it's in the same building as the central station so you can walk indoors to the hotel if I'm not mistaken.

Looking at the aerial view on Google maps it looks worse than it is. If you look at the street view, you can see a pedestrian bridge over the road. There are also clearly marked crosswalks on the street. It's a three-minute walk using the Google map walking directions.

We stayed at the Thon Hotel Opera in Oslo. It is literally steps from the train station. We took the train from Bergen to Oslo, walked out of the train station and directly into the hotel. No streets to cross. The hotel was very nice and the (included) breakfast excellent. We were there for three nights and would stay there again.

We stayed at the Comfort Hotel which is directly attached to the train station. A very nice hotel, despite the strange name, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. When you get off the train at the station, immediately turn left and a few hundred feet away there is a direct entrance to the hotel.

We enjoyed everything about the Grand Hotel including its location near important sites. We easily walked there from train.

You can get to the Radisson Blu by just walking through the train station and over a pedestrian overpass bridge. There are signs in the station pointing the way, but basically it's go through the barriers and turn right.

We also stayed at the Comfort Hotel. It’s right next to the train station.

Consider the Clarion. It is about 2-3 blocks from the station and it is easy to walk there. The hotel is lovely and the breakfast is beyond fabulous. You can have a meal in the bar if you like. It is also a short walk to the Opera House….a fun end of day or early morning bit of sightseeing.
