What is the cheapest way to buy Norway in a Nutshell tickets.
The Nutshell tour is a common topic in the Norway forum. The cheapest way is to buy trip components - NSB train tickets, Fram RR ticket, ferry then bud/coach - making up the route.
The big saver is buying NSB Minipris advanced purchase discounted tickets. Check other forum topics about paying for NSB tickets by credit card.
Tha DIY is the cheapest but most time consuming way.

You can print the tickets from your phone/tablet etc. For the bus, just pay the driver no advance purchase needed. For my trip the first bus was full, don't panic if this happens, there was another right behind it leaving at the same. As to train tickets, I believe you get a discount for advance purchases, they call it minipris pricing. I was able to get this rate when I booked a month in advance....

NSB Minipris:

The offer is available for a limited number of seats on NSB Regiontog (inter-city) departures. Minipris tickets from NOK 249,- can be purchased online here at nsb.no, using our app, or from our ticket machines. Minipris is an offer determined by the interaction of demand and availability. Consequently, price may vary over time and you may find fewer Minipris tickets on the most popular departures.
Tickets must be purchased at least one day before the date of travel. This applies to both online, mobile and ticket machine purchases.
