Aloha,
We will be travel through Norway for one month September 2017. We are taking our IPad and charger for communications, wi-fi etc.
Does anyone know if we need additional plugs/ and or converters to CHARGE the IPad using outlets in hotels and homes.
Thank you all!
All you need is a plug adapter so that you can fit your regular iPad charger into the outlet. All Apple products charge at both 110 and 220 voltages. Plug adapters are widely sold. Try Best Buy or your local Apple or electronics store.
Just a minor correction to the above. Apple OEM supplied chargers are dual voltage. If you have aftermarket or third party chargers it's best to check the specifications.
Apple devices are two prong (no ground) plugs. You only need a Type C Europlug adapter (two round pins). RS FAQ Tip: https://www.ricksteves.com/travel-tips/phones-tech/electric-adapters-converters
Different story if you have a device requiring grounding (three conductors).
Mahalo nui loa...Patricia, Rocket and Edgar. We appreciate your collective info. and time taken to answer our questions!
Just saw your post. I'd buy one of the adapters specified for Norway on amazon. The purple ones are supposed to be good. The owner of the air bnb I stayed at thought she had one but didn't. I had to buy a really cheap looking one for $18 in Bergen. It was probably $5 on Amazon. I was relieved it didn't fry my new i phone.
Aloha all, and mahalo for your replies. We ordered a kit of 3 from Amazon as advised, and they're on their way!
