I see there is a passenger only ferry. Is there either a car ferry or a place to return a rental car in Balestrand? I’m guessing it’s too small of a town for a rental car return? We’re driving from Trondheim to Bergen over 3 days and would love to take a boat ride down Sognefjord.

If you want to return your car in Sogn, then I guess Avis Leikanger is your best bet. The boat Balestrand-Bergen stops in Leikanger before Balestrand.
