We have a 6:30 a.m. flight from Bergen airport. Requirement says we need to be there at 4:30 a.m. I hope someone knows if there is an airport bus running as early as 3:30-4 a.m. and how we find it. We'll be staying at the Augustin Hotel in the old town area. Also need to know if bus will accept credit cards for fare or if we need to hold out local currency to pay and how much? Wouldn't be as concerned if it were not so early!! Would like to get this "nailed down" before departing for Norway on Monday, May 12. Thanks to anyone who might have any of this information!
The timetable for the airport bus can be found here:

The nearest stop would Torget which is a 5 minute walk from your hotel.
They start running at 3:30am so it will get you to the airport in plenty of time to catch your flight. The buses accept cash or credit cards, but I suspect they only take chip&pin cards so best to use cash.
Thank you, Michael, for your rapid answer and the link to the schedule. Even tho' there is some English on that site, it really isn't enough for me to feel comfortable. How did you determine that there is a bus that leaves at 3:30a.m.? I could not figure that out! ;-) Our credit cards are signature & pin, not chip & pin so I'll hold out the one way fare for each of us based on what is listed on this website. Thank you again!
You're welcome. Go to page 2 of the pdf, the schedule is to the left of the map. The Bus leaves the first stop (Radisson Bryggen) at 3:25am, by the time it makes to the second stop (Torget) it should be about 3:30. I've ridden the bus at this hour and it operates as advertised. The bus will have a lot of airport/airline workers on it, so you won't be alone;)
OK, Michael, so the grid at the top left of page 2 is the schedule. What exactly does the first column mean? It says Tid and then there are numbers beginning with 03 - 23 listed below it. Sorry to be so "dense" as well as compulsive about this but I'm not used to wandering the street at 3 a.m. with luggage looking for a bus stop so I want to be really certain about what I'm doing! Thanks ever so much for your patience!
"Tid" is hours in Norwegian. Norway uses the 24 hour clock so 03 is 3 AM and 23 is 11 PM. 12 would be 12 noon.
Clarification: Tid is literally Time, but in context 03 is time in hours etc.
Thank you, Edgar, for enlightening me!
Now I find by combing the web that there appears to be 2 different buses to the Bergen Airport. One is called Flybussen.no and the other is Flybussbergen.no
They seem to run the same route so I am wondering if they are actually the same company. It is not very clear on the web. I'm hoping someone can set me straight on this as well. Thank you to everyone!
I don't know what Flybussbergen is but http://www.flybussen.no/en provides bus service to airports. I think that it may be the same as the SAS Flybussen airport express service that I have used to/from Oslo Gardenmoen. You may be seeing the Bergen airport express service.
Sounds like you're on the right track. Have a good trip!
