I would like to get from Alesund and Trondheim in early June. I do not see a train and renting a car, with drop off costs, is crazy. Is there a bus we can take? It looks like Nettbuss makes the trip, but I can not read Norwegian. Can anyone help with schedules and cost.

We did a lot of travelling by bus when we traveled to Norway last July. I found that emailing the bus company for confirmation of various routes and rising worked very well.

NX155 bus number then a link to rutetabell. You will find that this schedule is only valid till April 30. It may be the same schedule in the summer but your best bet is to email them. The bus is direct with several stops along the way and will take about 7 hours.

Aandalsnes is the closest train station to Alsesund, connected by bus. Between Aandalsnes and Trondheim, trains take about 5.5 hours with a connection at Dombas.
Bus Ålesund – Molde – Kristiansund and express boat Kristiansund – Trondheim is another option.
