Booking the Flåm railway direct? And ferry Bergen to Balestrand?

Hi and thank you in advance for any help you can give this confused gal setting out in just a few days. So prelude to Norway is a 1 week trip to Switzerland/Northern Italy.
Arrive midafternoon in Bergen by air.
Basically 3 full days.
Booked at the youth hostel in Bergen and a hotel in Balestrand.
Piecing together my own grand mini tour for
Myself and 2 college daughters on my tight budget and even tighter time to be together first visit for us all.
So thinking to maximize:
Arrive Bergen and afternoon ferry to Balestrand same day as morning ferry next day sold out and wanted to do tour to glacier.
Second day glacier tour and ON Balestrand
Third day ferry Balestrand to Flåm.
Was thinking quick lunch then Flåm railway to Myrdal and either hiking or biking down to Flåm. Then Flåm back to Bergen for morning flights next day.
Can see NIN would be Flåm ferry to Gudvanger then bus to Voss, train to Bergen. Is this a different fjord? Train option is Flåm via Myrdal then to Bergen. Is this the same scenic famous train? There is also express bus from Flåm to Voss for
Much cheaper and train from
There for about 1/3 cost as train alone.
Questions: single ticket Flåm to Myrdal very expensive. Is this the scenic train on Vy? Only few options left at this time. Would the ferry to Gudvanger and express bus provide
More scenery? Vs all train. Is hike down from Myrdal to Flåm waste of time seeing as perhaps needing to redo journey anyway? Would another activity like somehow getting to a stave church or farm be wiser?
Also, saw great tour on the NIN Sonjeford
Option but don't know how to book independently? It is the tour to the national park and glacier museum from Balestrand. Around $300 for day trip.
Please advise. Any help much appreciated

Also, getting a Eurail pass and not knowing if adding a day for Norway would be worthwhile.
And how to apply for the discount on the Flåm
Scenic train as
Part of Flåm to Bergen return home if choose this option

Bumping up.

Just an FYI, oatespena, your formatting makes it somewhat difficult to read this post, which could be why you haven't gotten any responses. I would consider reworking this thread, especially the formatting (for example, sentences are very broken up and on different lines with no rhyme or reason).

Good luck!

I'm afraid we're too late to help you, but:

The Myrdal-Flam train is highly scenic. It is expensive, yes. It can be booked on the vy.no website on a through ticket to or from one of the mainline rail stations like Bergen, probably also Voss).

The ferry between Flam and Gudvangen goes through the Naeroyfjord arm of the Sognefjord. The Naeroyfjord is much narrower than the main part of the Sognefjord, so it is more scenic.

The bus from Gudvangen up to Voss (where you can get the train to Bergen) is also very scenic.

Whatever you end (ended?) up doing, I'm sure the trip will be (was?) lovely, because Norway is very scenic.
