My travel buddy and I are thinking of staying an extra night after the RS tour ends in summer 2027. However, a one-bedroom with two beds, in the lower price category is not available. The next level is over $300 for one night. This is a Thon hotel.
Can anyone recommend a good option that won't break the bank? We are considering Scandic Ørnen.
We will probably skip breakfast as our flight will be early.
I assume you need one bedroom with 2 beds, right? What is your RS hotel? I would aim for something closer to it.
Are you departing early in the AM from second hotel? Or would you enjoy breakfast?
Thon hotels are usually mid-range and have fantastic breakfast included (which can be a money saver too since food is pricey). I had great experience at Thon Bristol.
Scandic is a good brand too.
We stayed at Scandic Parken in Alesund. It was a good choice. I will try them in other locations when we go back.
We stayed at the Thon Hotel Rosenkrantz, great location and fantastic breakfast buffet.
Some forum posters have mentioned Citybox Hotels as a good budget no frills choice.
I also stayed at the Thon Hotel Rosenkrantz in Bergen and loved the location and the hotel.
Have you signed up for a Thon+ rewards membership? You get a discount if you do so. I would suggest you do that and then try again on the price.
Since you have an early flight out, you might consider staying out near the airport, where the prices appear to be much lower. Your RS hotel should hold your luggage for you while you're out and about during the day. Pick it up after dinner.
Thon Hotel and City Box are very expensive for the one date I need.
