My wife and I are booked on the RS tour to Scandinavia In July/August this year. When we finish that in Bergen, we hope to take the express ferry to Balestrand. We'll stay in Balestrand for 2 nights and then continue the ferry route to Flam and stay one night there. The next day we plan to take the Flambana train to Myrdal and then on to Oslo the same day. We do have our hotels booked. However we have not booked any of those ferry/rail tickets. Should we book all those tickets in advance? I have not been able to find where we do that before we leave. Can someone point us to the right site? Any other comments or suggestions? Thanks. Pat

There's only one ferry per day, so you'll probably want to book that now at https://www.norled.no/en/expressboat/. Train tickets are available at www.vy.no/en (some advance discounts available) or at train stations in Scandinavia. Their note: "We recommend PayPal for our Northern American customers as our system only accepts credit cards with 3D Secure." If you don't have PayPal, you could buy tickets when convenient in another city.

Can the Flambana segment (Flam-Myrdal) be ticketed along with the Flam to Oslo full
itinerary or do you have to buy separate ticket?
