August 2025 8 stops in Norway - Looking for best / must do excursions

We are seniors.. mobile but not looking for strenuous excursions for our first time visit to Norway. Rib boats, gondolas, walking fine.. rock climbing, zip lining, biking .. not so much. Just returned from Japan where we averaged 8000-10000 steps a day with private tours.. We rarely take the cruise excursions, and opt for private or small group tours.. We like Tours by Locals .Here's the itinerary and looking for recommendations (we're ok with a morning and afternoon separate excursion as long as we dont miss the boat)
AUg 9 - Stavenger
Aug 10 Olden
Aug 11 Molde
Aug 12 Trondheim
Aug 14 Honningsvag
Aug 15 Tromso
Aug 17 Geiringer
Aug 18 Flam

Thanks in advance !

From Flam you can consider the Flamsbana train up to Myrdal and back to Flam, the ferry through the Naeroyfjord to Gudvangen (return by bus), or a ride on one of the RIBs (inflatable boats providing what is reported to be a fast, adrenaline-filled experience). I believe those are the most popular options. I can personally vouch for the first two. I know the Flamsbana can sell out, so that's a ticket you'd want to pick up in advance. I don't know about the boat trips; I was taking the Norway-in-a-Nutshell route from Oslo to Bergen, and I booked the various components the same day, several months ahead of time, because the train between Oslo and Myrdal becomes more expensive if you buy your tickets late. All those excursions are things you can book yourself at what I'm sure is a much lower price than your cruise line would charge. Use vy.no for the Flamsbana ticket and NorwaysBest.com for the trip to Gudvangen and back. I imagine NorwaysBest.com also handles the RIB tickets but am not sure about those.

I enjoyed exploring the city of Trondheim on foot.

At Honningsvag the obvious trip is to the Nordkapp (the North Cape). There is really no difference between taking the cruise excursion or taking the public bus. Depending on the duration of your call it may be worth taking the far more expensive excursion for ease.

If you have come that far north then IMO it doesn't really make sense not to go to the Nordkapp, hackneyed as it may seem.

When I called there on a cruise I would have missed the public bus due to severe problems in attaching the gangway- probably an isolated issue but who knows.

You should also see the Hurtigruten boat at her own quay in the harbour, while there

Do also look for the statue of Bamse the dog and read up on his heroism in WW2. He became the mascot both of the Norwegian Navy and of the Free Norwegian Forces. He is also celebrated at Montrose, Scotland.

Honningsvag Church was the only building left standing in the town at the end of WW2, as the Germans pursued a policy of destruction.

Stavanger: We didn't do it, but the rib boat ride out to Lysefjord looked like it would be fun one. We spent our day there exploring the city. Gamle Stavanger is a lovely area to walk through.

I would walk in Geiranger. Maybe to the fjord center, waterfall, and church. On a clear day I would take a tour to Dalsnibba.

We did a rib boat ride out to Lysefjord one day from Stavanger. Another day we kayaked in that fjord. Another day we walked all over Gamle and visited the canning museum up there. All that said, our favorite thing we did from Stavanger was to go to Flor & Fjaere. It is more beautiful that what you see on the web!

Thank you all so far for the responses. i think we're doing the fjord cruise in stavenger, which wont leave time for Flor & Fjaere, which i had never heard of, but looks fabulous.
