Artic circle in August

We would like to visit a town/village in the Artic Circle and travel by overnight train or fly from Oslo. What town/village is recommended?

No overnight train from Oslo - distance too long; only from Trondheim.

Check Tromso or Narvik for direct flights from OSL.
