Any issues with flying out of Oslo?

Anyone flown out of Oslo airport recently? Does it have any of the long security line issues that have been plaguing other airports? (We recently flew out of Schiphol, which was a nightmare.)

I can only say that I observed no issues on arrival. However, I had gone through EU immigration in Brussels, so I didn't have an opportunity to see much.

Hi, davidfox,
I just flew out of Oslo airport back to the US yesterday. The only issue we had is that we could not check in online ahead of time (the message was about Covid documents despite the June 12 policy change), so we had to go to the gate the morning of departure and wait in line for a gate agent. Oslo departure gates are under a refresh, so all carriers are lined up on either side of an “under construction” wall, which cramps up space a bit.

We arrived for an 8:00 departure at 5:30, but we still had to wait for 20-30 minutes to get boarding passes from the sole gate agent.

Security was no problem at all (typical line and short wait), but leaving Norway requires a customs check as well. That meant another line on top of security to wait in.

Bottom line—allow plenty of time. 2 1/2 hours was about right for us.

Bon voyage!

We fly to Copenhagen, which is a Schengen country, so no passport control for us. We are already checked in online. The owner of the AirBnB that we are staying at told us, that he flew out a week and a half ago and it was only 30 minutes in the security line. So I think getting there 1 1/2 hours before flight time will suffice.

If you are already checked in online, I’d say you will be fine! Security was not a problem, so you should be okay there. Have a great trip!

We flew into and out of Oslo in late May and mid-June with no problems or particularly long lines. I agree, Schiphol is a nightmare right now.

We flew out of Oslo June 28 to the US through Frankfurt on Lufthansa. The Lufthansa check in was very long, at least an hour to get boarding passes and drop luggage. No Kiosks for Lufthansa and 2 overburdened agents manning a desk, just like the olden days. After that, security was very rushed and disorganized , but at least fast. We arrived at the airport 4 am for our 6:30 am flight and had about a half an hour to spare before boarding, but it looked as though the check in line was much longer by the time we finished there. I think the gate agent knew our bags would never make it because she asked for our home address at check in, and she was right. Our bags arrived 2 days later. So carry on emergency clothes etc. The Frankfurt airport connection was very chaotic, with huge lines at all parts of the process, and some broken people movers through the interminable run to our gate. Our connecting flight out of Frankfurt to the US was about a half hour delayed, which is the only reason we made the connection, which was booked to be only 1 hour and 15 minutes. This was the worst airport connection we ever experienced in about 20 international trips.
Good luck .

I forgot to say we were also asked in Oslo for proof of vaccination, which we luckily had but I don’t recall that having been specified beforehand.

I forgot to mention that the check in person in Oslo asked us for proof of vaccination, which luckily we had, but I do not recall this having been specified ahead of time.
