We are heading to Oslo for a day or two and then to Bergen for a few days in August. Anyone have any AirBnBs or Bed and Breakfasts that were reasonably priced and well located for walking or buses?
Thanks,
Ellen
In Bergen, we stayed at this hotel, where they served a wonderful breakfast. It's across the street from the train station, which was convenient for our Nutshell departure the next morning. Bergen is small, so we easily walked everywhere from there, although it's not the most central location to the harbour. https://www.grandterminus.no/en/
In Norway, we booked a suite through this site. Ours was lovely, well-equipped and surprisingly luxurious, but we did need to take a bus or tram to most sights. https://frognerhouse.no/?lang=en
"Reasonably priced" seems to take on a new meaning in Norway. I'm in Coch's Pensjonat (not a small place at all, despite the name) in Oslo and Citybox (on Nygardsgaten) in Bergen. I can't remember whether either includes breakfast of any sort. I can't comment on quality since my stays are in June, but I think any place you find in Norway will be clean and decent. I use booking.com for a lot of my preliminary research, sometimes making reservations there and sometimes using the hotel's website. Booking.com does have some B&B and apartment listings.
We are staying at a AirBnB in Bergen in early June, We would be glad to give you a report wen we get back. It is called AirB&B Central 2 Room by Trond, and it approx 1 mile from the train station; a twenty minute walk, or you can take bus # 13. It has good reviews, has parking, and is next to a grocery store. The cost is less than $500 for our four nite stay. It has great reviews and the owner has been very responsive to our queries.
