A pause in Myrdal, any nearby walks, cafe ?

Greetings,

My group of 5 will have about 3 hours in Myrdal when we arrive from Oslo before we can get a train to Flåm. Do any travelers have any suggestions to fill that time? We will have luggage, I know that will not be convenient.

I have not used NIN to book trains etc. and mostly things have gone smoothly with booking.
(vy only mistake)
Be careful leaving Oslo, you will need two tickets to get to Flåm and if you want the train journey to be aligned without a wait in Myrdal, you need to make sure the waiting train is not sold out!

Thanks for any suggestions,
Sheila

When I did the NiN trip in summer 2022, there was a small Cafe at the Myrdal train station. Offerings were limited, but I bought a good, reasonably-priced sandwich there, and I think they were making pancakes or something like that.

I didn't see anything besides the train station in Myrdal, but I have read on the forum that there are some other buildings there. Perhaps if you zoom way in on Google Maps you can see whether there are any other food sources. You might be able to do some localized hiking if one of your group is willing to babysit the luggage.

I would also vheck with a train employee when the earlier train (the train you'd like to be on) arrives, just in case there are some extra seats.
