2 Nights in Balestrand - Don't want to miss key highlights

Hey all, We're a family of 7 (6 Adults & 1 Child of 5 Yrs) We'll be in Norway end of this month for a short trip. We'll be driving from Bergen to Balestrand on 28th July. Should arrive Balestrand by noon. We've not planned Flam or any of the very famous nearby attractions in the tour right now. After 2 nights in Balestrand we'll be heading to Ullensvang for a night before going back to Bergen. Some options on our plate are of course the Fjaerland Tour & maybe some local sightseeing. However, considering the Naeroyfjord is just close by was wondering if there's any way to fit it in our itinerary from Balestrand. We will have a car :)

Any recommendations, would still like to keep it easy & not too hectic. Have time to enjoy Balestrand, maybe do some kayaking around the hotel & just relax. Feeling confused if we should do Fjaerland Tour alone, or go for Naeroyfjord & Fjaerland both too. Maybe any tours to Naeroyfjord from Balestrand also? Suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

What I'm wondering is doing the Naeroyfjord on the way to Ullensvang.

Assuming you are routing on road 5, the E16 and the 13 you will be passing Flam and Gudvangen. Assuming capacity on either of the boats between Flam and Gudvangen you could park at either port, do a one way trip, then public or ferry shuttle bus back to where you are parked.
This would have been easier before the E16 tunnel was built between Flam and Gudvangen as what is now the Lustraabatane ferry used to be a vehicle ferry.

But assuming capacity and working out timetables there is no obvious reason why it wouldn't work.
You've actually set me thinking. The valley road which follows the Flam railway, and people normally cycle down. I don't think there is a locals only restriction on the road- you may well be able to drive up it.

Way to Ullensvang: by car just take the ferry to Vangsnes and follow road 13 over the fjell to Vinje, turn left for reaching Gudvangen and Flam to enjoy Naeroyfjord.

Near Balestrand enjoy scenic route Gaularfjellet.

Another way to fit in the Naeroyfjord - drive to Kaupanger via the Hella ferry then take the Lustrabaatane car ferry to Gudvangen at 0915, and an extra sailing at 1230 to the end of August - 2 hr 30 minute passage time.
