14 days in Norway, end of May 2025.

Good morning - I'm struggling with my itinerary.

Our interest is less in seeing the cities and more in the country's natural beauty. So, flying into Oslo, then heading right to Bergen, and two-day Norway nb a Nutshell. Then, I am stuck. I'd like a few days to see more fjords and possibly daily bicycle trips through the fjords.

Then I scrapped Kirekenes to get off the Havila coastal journey in Svovlaer and spend 3 or 4 days in Lofoton in Air BnBs with a rental car. I look forward to the boat ride, so 4 days is a plus.

Then, we need to head back to Oslo to fly home. I don't like flying unless absolutely necessary and count me out for small planes. We have a few days, so I thought we could take either the ferry to Bodo, the train to Trondheim, and then the train to Oslo or the Havila back to Trondheim and then the train to Oslo.

Thoughts appreciated

Harry

Day 1-3 Oslo NIN Bergen
4 sightseeing fjords close to Bergen
5-8 Havila
9-11 Lofoton
12-14?
15 - Fly home

I would use a rental car for the whole fjords area from / to Voss (train stop between Oslo and Bergen). Spend more days there, e. g. Hardanger route and Lysefjord / Ryfylke route.

From Lofoten back I recommend to use plane from EVE, likely a Boeing 737 or an Airbus 320; so not too small.

I think driving in Norway is easy. Good roads, little traffic; particularly in the less urban areas. Avoids the small planes.

We stayed a couple of more days in Norway after doing the Oslo-Sognefjord-Bergen trip that is so popular. We are staying in a farmhouse AirBnB just outside Jotunheimen National Park. WOW! Spectacular scenery. Rugged like the fjords but different. Beautiful valleys, rivers, lakes and rushing rapids. Maybe not the place to go for restaurants and night clubs. I think that this area might be being overlooked by the NiN travelers. We spent a little time in Lillehammer and returned the car at Oslo Airport.

I am grateful for the reposnses.

Question. Should I change my plans to drive the Atlantic HIghway?

If yes, I'd take the Hurtigruten or Havila from Svolvaer to Trondheim or Kristiansund, rent a car and drive the highay then head back to Olslo. The alternative is an extra day or two in the Bergen area or a few extra days in Lofoton or a day in Vesteralen.

There's just so much to see that I'm sure if I was going for a month I would still have troubles..
