11 days in Norway

Flying into Stavanger and flying out of Alesund. I'm really struggling on the itinerary. 2 adults and 2 18 years with a rental car. Want to enjoy the beauty of Norway and relax before kids head off to college. Want to hike and do outdoorsy things. Any itinerary would be appreciated.

We did a loop drive last month, so we visited areas in a different order. Considering your arrival -departure pts., plot these on Google maps: (overnights will depend on your wishes, but the fjord area is not conducive to many two-night stays)

Latefoss - Ullensvang area - detour for Vorringfossen - Bergen - Voss - Gudvangen to Flam passenger ferry (book ahead) with shuttle bus return to Gudvangen - Aurland to Laerdal "snow road" (not the boring tunnel) - detour to Borgund Stave Church - Fodnes ferry (no need to book) - Balestrand - FV 613 and on to Loen - Hellsylt to Geiranger ferry (must be booked ahead) - Geiranger to Andalsnes via two twisty mt. roads - Alesund.

Since this is a forum and not a travel agency it is more meaningful that you come up with a rough itinerary frame like day 1 ..., day 2... and get feedback on this. Also add the planned travel dates, maybe age and fitness level and as much interests or want-to-experiences as possible.

Helpful for you as entry can be the 18 Norwegian landscape routes and this article about Fjord Norway.

Be aware that one-way rentals can be more expensive in Norway.

When is this trip? If it's this summer, you may have some lodging challenges in the area around Flam, and possibly in other small towns visited primarily in the summer that are accessible by public transportation. Booking.com is a good starting point to see what might be available during your travel dates. It's always worth contacting hotels and other lodgings directly, because not all rooms are listed on booking.com, but if that website says there's nothing available in town, that's a big red flag.

Hi. Thanks. I'll start a new fresh post with an itinerary for feedback.
