Our group (including two young children) will be staying with relatives in Zeewold, and we'd like to spend time exploring Amsterdam. Our first time! Should we rent a car and drive into Amsterdam, park it until we're ready to go home; Or take public transportation? Google Maps estimates driving will take 45-60 minutes, versus two Sprinter trains and a bus would take 90 minutes. If driving is the better option, any recommendations on parking would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

9292.nl/en will show the way. Shows a 50 minute bus to Almere from Zeewolde every 30 minutes, then a 20 minute train to Amsterdam Centraal. A car would involve finding and paying for parking, then still some public transport. Beside the expense that will probably eat up the time saving by the car travel time.
