The area map shows a pay toilet near the Schans museum. Do the paid attractions (windmills, Time Museum, etc.) have toilets - pay or otherwise? Elsewhere? Being a somewhat "manufactured" community I don't know what to anticipate.
Thanks for any help.
I could be mistaken, but I don't recall public restrooms in the actual working windmills. However there are restrooms in the snack bar (near the entrance to the compound) and also in the cheese shop (further into the center). There are probably more that we didn't "patronize."
The public restroom is exactly where Linda said it is. You pay with a tap credit card - no coins.
@Bob
Never thought about restrooms, so thanks from a fellow Clevelander!
How are you getting to Zaanse Schans? We are thinking of taking Bus 891 there and back vs. the train + walk. Dose any forum member have comments about that plan?
I don't remember the bus number, but we took a bus directly from Amsterdam Centraal that dropped us off right at the entrance. You might check the Zaanse Schans website.
I am driving to Zaanse Schans so I can't advise on the bus connection, other than to say tap credit cards are used for the fare. It looks like the restrooms are tap card as well. Very convenient because I never seem to have the correct (or any) change when necessary. Thanks for the info.
