Would this Personal Item work for my flight?

I have a carry on that fits the dimensions for airline so I don't think that will be a problem . The question I have is with the personal item as the description given by the airline is vague.

I am flying:
Delta to BOS to Amsterdam

KLM to Amsterdam
then
Amsterdam to BOS

Would the Samsonite Small Wheeled Underseater be OK for a personal item on the flights?

Here is from the KLM site:

General included hand baggage allowance
Hand baggage Economy Class total max. 12 kg
Economy Class on European and intercontinental flights
1 item of hand baggage, max. 55 x 35 x 25 cm (21,5 x 13,5 x 10 inch)
1 accessory, e.g. a handbag, briefcase or laptop, max. 40 x 30 x 15 cm (16 x 12 x 6 inch)
Total weight max. 12 kg (26 lbs).

The item you cite appears the exceed 2 of these dimensions. Also, at 6 1/2 lbs empty, seems on the heavy side. Not saying it won't pass, but that is always up to who is working the gate.

LF, is your carry-on a wheeled bag? If so, I guess my issue with the Samsonite underseater is that it also has wheels. Not sure you want or need those on both of your bags? Our person item bags are also less rigid than this one so be able to adapt to different underseat configurations, and can be squished down to fit different size restrictions.

I think an additional heavy rolling bag is unnecessary. Why don’t you look at a bag that will fit under seat and that you could slide over the handle of a roll on? Take a look at the Velocé shoulder bag or the Euro Flight bag. I use the Euro bag and it is quite roomy and holds a lot with easy access. My only complaint is that it is totally unstructured so it’s rather floppy.

I agree with the others. My personal items is always a large zippered Laurel Burch Tote. They are fairly heavy duty bags although not heavy, and the interior is lined with plastic so contents stay dry and I can carry it as a daytime shoulder bag during my trip. Years ago I carried one as my daily purse. To me, something like that is more useful than another wheeled bag that I won't want to use anywhere after I arrive.

That one is nice but still measures too large for your personal item. It's the right idea, though.
