We'll be spending a week in Westphalia, Germany, in July and are looking at doing a day trip to Winterswijk or surroundings as that area is the closest to our home base. We will have a car. It will be during the week (if we had a Saturday we would go to the market in Enschede instead but that's not an option).
Any suggestions as to what we could do there? Many years ago, Winterswijk was a popular destinations for Germans to do some shopping, in particular for knitting wool ;-) So what's interesting there these days?
